PAST VOLUMES OF THE SERIES
The Series was born out of a desire to document, celebrate, and learn from the philosophies, values, and leadership styles of Africa’s most impactful citizens. It is a literary and cultural initiative aimed at inspiring younger generations, confronting national dilemmas, and recognising exemplary individuals who have shaped the destiny of our continent.
The Educational Theory of
Tai Solarin (1992)
The project began with “The Educational Theory of Tai Solarin”, written by Professor Tony Aladejana and Dr. Sam Obidi and published by Adefila Printers. This pioneering volume was launched with fanfare at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos, and attracted top government dignitaries in 1992.
Dr. Tai Solarin, a fearless educator and social critic, believed that societal reform begins with the classroom. His theory linked education directly with nation-building. He argued that schools must produce not only literate citizens but socially responsible change agents. His progressive ideals and uncompromising standards laid the foundation for what is now the core vision of the ENS: to challenge Nigeria’s problems through the lens of exemplary leadership.

Using the sterling example of Dr. Dalhatu Tafida, former Nigerian High Commissioner to the UK, the book celebrated his disciplined and punctual approach to leadership. It also offered readers practical time-management tools while proposing a national rethink of our relationship with time. This edition set the tone for the publications to address not just personalities, but the ethical challenges that face Nigeria as a society.

From Liberia to Sudan, Zimbabwe to the Congo, Obasanjo has played decisive roles in de-escalating tensions and fostering reconciliation across the continent.
